Complementary Courses

The junior high Art program focuses on three major components of visual learning: drawing, or delineations (all the ways to record visual information), compositions or structures (all the ways images are put together to create meaning), and encounters with art where we meet and how we respond to visual imagery.

The Edmonton Art Gallery has presented The Alberta Foundation of the Arts Travelling Exhibition Program for several years at our school. The featured exhibit this year is the First Nations artist depicting Stoney Indians which is currently on display in our school library. Students are invited to complete accompanying activities.

Art work from all of our students are continually being displayed on our bulletin boards and display cases which reflect and fulfill curricular objectives across many subject areas.

Our school owns a kiln that is used for firing clay work.
