The film studies option will utilize a variety of movies from the 1940's to present day to explore the process of film making. This will include examining film style, screen acting, the use of shots and editing as part of the process, and how movie themes have changed over the decades, and are influenced by the society and cultures of their creators. Students will be required to do writing on the films they study, including work on characters, conflict, setting, and dialogue from the various films.
